Send Us Your Story of Gender Challenges and Healings
Hello Friends,
We invite you to consider sharing your gender stories with us –– including both challenging and healing stories. These may be stories from the workplace, school environment, religious community, social engagements, or public spaces such as the marketplace, on the bus or street, or in a restaurant or bar. You might also have stories to share from personal relationships with family members (fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, etc.), partners or lovers. Your story may be from the past, or a current situation. These may be moments that were formative for you in some way around gender and sexuality, or that challenged or surprised you, or that allowed you to transform or reconcile a past pain related to gender or sexuality.
“The shortest distance between a human being and the truth is a story,” as the saying goes. Whatever your story is, please consider sharing it here. The purpose of sharing our stories is to bring greater healing, and ultimately to move from the place of pain and suffering toward healing and reconciliation within ourself and with others. In sharing your story we ask that you do so with the intention toward healing and creating safety. In the Gender Equity and Reconciliation community, we share our stories not as victims, but as witnesses to the ways we have all been harmed and healed through issues relating to gender injustice.
By sharing your experiences, your story can inspire greater awareness, empowerment, accountability, and self-advocacy for others.
